Prospect Breakdown- Jaylan Foster, Byrnes High, Duncan, SC

Jaylan Foster
6-0, 170, 4.68 40 yard dash.
James Byrnes High, Duncan, SC.

Byrnes high last season was ranked the #4 team in the state of South Carolina, their out of state challenge was facing De La Salle, the school featured in the Hollywood film When The Game Stands Tall. Making it 3 rounds into the playoffs and finishing with a 12-2 record, we got to talk to one of the players who helpled make the 2014 season happen.

Jaylan Foster is a WR/DB for Byrnes High School, a good sized athlete at 5-11 and 180 pounds, Foster is one of the fastest players on the field and can go 40 yards in 4.68 seconds. Highlight reels show that he is a quick runner, and he baits QB's very well into throwing his way to grab an easy pick.

According to Scout.com, Jaylan is attracting the attention of schools such as Auburn, South Carolina, Kentucky, North Carolina State, Maryland, North Carolina, Wake Forest, and Georgia Tech. However, he has yet to receive a scholarship offer.

We had a chance to talk to Foster online, and we asked him a few questions. Here was our conversation:

TFRN- From the last source I checked, you haven't been offered by a college yet. Are there any schools you would most like to be at?
Jaylen Foster- As long as I get a chance to play at the next level, but I wouldn't mind being in the SEC.

TFRN- What to you is the most important skill a player of your position needs to have? And how do you bring that to the field?
Foster- Speed and good football IQ. Strength.

TFRN- Very good answer.Would a coaching change influence your decision to commit somewhere?
Foster- No, sir.

TFRN-  What are you looking for in a college as a school?
Foster- Family environment, good education, good football history

TFRN- How has Byrnes High helped you as a player?
Foster- They make sure I get better everyday, in the weight room and during drills.

TFRN- Our last question, what, in your opinion, is your biggest strength on the field?
Foster- At which position?

TFRN- Any position, any technique, any skill.
Foster- WR - My quickness and hands, DB- My physicality and quickness.

Overall, Foster has the look of a 3 star prospect, although he has yet to be ranked on a major site. Foster looks to compete and perform well among the best in the game, and our analysis says he will. Watch Foster closely during his senior season and quickly climb the ranks to one of the best of the game.
